While much has been reported on the benefits of BB, CC and DD creams, most South African consumers are either unaware of the differences or, at the very least, think they are part of a ‘fad’ that’s likely to cease in coming months. Thembelihle Lephoko, brand custodian for Clere® Radiance, says that quite the opposite is true. “Products that offer multiple functions, like moisturisation paired with sun protection or a slight tint, are going to continue to drive change in specifically the facial care market.”
Lephoko says that, at a time when South Africans are hard pressed to afford their rising grocery and basic service bills, they’re looking for ways to economise on luxury products – which majority of the time includes face and body grooming products. “Products offering not one, but two or three benefits are perceived as a cost saving, because it’s one product doing the job, as opposed to two or three.”
“The difference between BB and CC creams is sometimes hard to spot. The acronym CC stands for ‘colour correcting’ which implies that the product assists with redness or an ashen skin-tone,” says Lephoko. A BB cream offers moisturisation, an SPF and a certain level of tint in the formulation to instantly cover marks. “A BB cream is lighter than your foundation, but usually provides more coverage than a regular tinted moisturiser.”
Lephoko says that, in addition, the Clere® Radiance BB Cream includes a unique Super Fruit Serum, which is an anti-oxidant that helps to protect the skin by limiting the production of free radicals that cause inflammation & premature ageing. The full Clere® Radiance range boasts a unique 3-in-1 formula across all its products that offers women softer, more beautiful, even tone skin.
The Clere® Radiance BB Cream is available in both light and dark shades.
