“I’m so excited, I can’t believe it. I can finally go back to school and re-do my matric,” says a visibly emotional Lebohang Molumaela, one of Clere’s 60th birthday in-store promo grand prize winners.
Molumaela walked away with R100 000 on the day, while Lesetsa Leso won R50 000 and Mirriam Dube R25 000.
“We set out at the beginning of this year, the brand’s 60th anniversary, to spread the love all year long. That’s why our in-store promo ran differently this year. Over and above the three grand prizes, for every valid entry received, Clere donated R2 to gender-based violence (GBV), child abuse and food relief charities. We raised approximately R250 000 for charity, and with the year not going the way any of us hoped, if ever there was a time for spreading a little love and kindness, it is now,” explains Clere brand manager, Su-Marie Annandale.
Lebohang Molumaela, a 29-year-old from Pretoria West, is now R100 000 richer and still “can’t quite believe it.” She entered Clere’s 60th birthday in-store promo back in April, when she purchased her favourite Cocoa Butter body crème from Spar. Besides re-doing her matric next year, she’s also planning on helping her mom open a fruit and vegetable store with her winnings. “I don’t have enough ‘thanks’ to give to Clere and how they’ve changed my life. Also, a huge congratulations to Clere on their 60th birthday, what a milestone.”
Lesetsa Leso from Soshanguve also entered the promo in April. He purchased Clere’s Rich Musk body crème at his local Shoprite. Speaking on his R50 000 winnings, he says his life and the lives of his entire family have changed. “My little brother is in matric now, so he’ll need some financial help, and I’ll also be able to help my mom out now. Clere has made me excited about the future.”
The third grand prize winner is 27-year-old Mirriam Dube from Ekangala in Tshwane. “I bought Clere’s Cocoa Butter body crème in May from Spar Bronkhorstspruit and decided to enter the promo.” Now, R25 000 richer, Dube will be using her winnings to further her teaching studies.
“It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be able to change people’s lives this way,” concludes Annandale.
